Simbiotek Design Lab, Inc. offers 3D PRINTING, PRODUCT & INDUSTRIAL DESIGN, PROTOTYPING AND MORE.

We are decidedly unspecialized and enjoy pushing the conceptions of what is possible in the marketplace on projects ranging from products to interactive installations to building design for extreme environments. We offer a one-stop for design and fabrication that is unique to others in our market, allowing you to complete your project with less hassle and ensure the end product is exactly what you aimed to achieve. 

3D PRINTING

We currently offer 3D printing services in six material options, each printable in range from low to high resolutions based on your needs.  If you have an idea but have not created a 3D model yet, we can help bring your vision to life. We offer 3D modeling and design services at a rate of $75/hour. This rate also applies to any changes necessary to your existing 3D model. Our competitors typically don't offer both design and fabrication under the same roof. Simbiotek is your one-stop for 3D printing in Southern California.

Simbiotek offers two printer options:

  1. Fuse Filament Fabrication (FDM) which extrudes a PLA filament, a type of non-toxic biodegradable thermoplastic elastomer made from sugar derived from field corn, through an extrusion nozzle to create an object.  
  2. Stereolithography (SL):  Stereolithography creates objects by curing a liquid photo-reactive resin with a UV laser.

*As a general rule of thumb, we can print models that are offset within a 1 inch of the maximum build volume listed above. If necessary, you may want to break your model into more components that can be printed separately and glued together later.)

Important! 

  • If your model's features are less than an 0.125" (1/8") they will print solid.
  • The minimum wall thickness should be 1/32".
  • If you would like a component of your model to be hollow, model in a weep hole of a minimum 1/16" for the resin to pour out as it prints.
  • It is recommended for high resolution prints that you hollow out your models to reduce the cost.
  • Make sure to analyze your model so that there are no parts with walls below the minimum thickness, no naked edges and no unjoined geometry.
